A large project carried out at a power plant

In the second December decade Beck & Pollitzer SPb installed a gas turbine at one of the power plants being under construction in the Urals. Our scope of work included turbine unloading, transportation to the installation site and erection of the turbine on foundations. The turbo-gas unit was delivered to the power plant  by rail on a specially equipped platform.

The weight of this General Electric state-of-the-art turbine together with the generator totalled in 540 tonnes, and in order to handle the unit quickly and carefully, it was decided to use the hydraulic gantry of 1000 tonnes lifting capacity. This equipment was engaged in unloading, internal relocation and installation works carried out at the OJSC Enel OGK5 construction Site of the new CCGT-410 unit at Sredneuralskaya GRES, close to Yekaterinburg.

The project implementation period was set as 6 days. The most part of these was dedicated to preliminary works such as hydraulic gantry delivery and erection, finalization of preparatory works at the basement. It took roughly 3 hours to transfer the turbo-gas unit to the place of installation and to install it on the basement.

The hydraulic gantry Hydrospex SBL 1100 which was employed at this project has the maximum lifting capacity of 1000 tonnes, and the maximum lifting height amounts to 120 sm. The gantry is equipped with the self-propelled tank-roller system, tracks reducing footprint leads and wireless control system - Intellift.
